Skin Saviors!

I’m almost 28 and, although I never sufferd of acne in my puberty, now a day’s my skin is turning on me. I’m heading over to a combination skin with dehydration and an oily T-zone (Oh yes this exist). ENTER adult acne!:-(

Honestly I really didn’t know what to do and I started to panic. Thankfully my best friend A. told me about the Avène Cleanance line. She hooked me up with a sample of Cleanance K, it worked miracles overnight. I needed this in my life! Little did I know this was discontinued in Belgium. Just my luck! That same week I read Mademoiselle Sophistique’s blog and she introduced me to the Avène Cleanance Triacneal Expert. Hearing about the Avène Cleanance benefits twice in one week? this could'nt be a coincidence! Off to the Pharmacy it was. I asked about the Cleanance K and they informed me that the Cleanance K was replaced by the Cleanance Expert. I went home with the Cleanance Expert and the Triacneal Expert, ready to take care of my skin!

I started using the Cleanance Expert as a day and night moisturizing crème and the Triacneal Expert as a plus on top of it in the evening. I only apply the Triacneal locally, unless you like a yellow face.

This cure is working for me! My skin isn’t completely acne free (I’m only using it for about a week), but I can see the progress every single day. I’m so glad I got to know these Avène products and I’m sure they will stay a staple piece in my bathroom. All the Avène products are very affordable so they are an option for everyone.

Did you ever use Avène products?

Philips Easy Natural Curler

As said in my Vogue Beauty Night Out blogpost I’m going to review the “Philips Easy Natural Curler”.

When I posted my picture on Instagram that night it made me win one of the 3 Easy Natural Curlers Philip’s was giving away. Yay!

The easy curler has a flat iron on both sides, although you can create natural curls with it. Interesting, right?  The plates are the innovative Clip & Curl plates they automatically clip and hold the hair lock whilst styling. The plates are coated with protective ceramic and can only be heated to a temperature of 200°C. This ensures an even heat distribution for shiny and soft hair, and prevents damaging your hair. As said even with a two sided flat iron, you can create amazing curls. I think it’s because of the special tulip design of the iron.

How does it work?

All you need to do is section/divide your hair and take the piece you want to curl. Place the easy curler near the roots and just turn the hair lock around the device. Gently pull it down to the end of your hair. Et voila, a natural curl! It took me about 10 minutes to curl my whole hair, never have curled my hair this fast.

Best thing about the easy curler? You can do all this with just 1 hand AND you can’t burn yourself!

The Easy Natural Curler can be used on short, medium and long hair lengths. Depending on how you curl your hair around it you can create beach waves or real preppy curls.

Features
  • Unique tulip shape to create a perfect natural curl
  • Very lightweight: +/- 500gr
  • Cable cord can rotate  360°
  • Size: estimation of about  24 cm long – plates are 7 cm’s
  • Price range: +/- € 40

My toughts?

PRO’S:
  • You can’ t burn yourself
  • Easy to use, there is no fuss
  • Light and small for travelling
  • Ceramic plates to protect your hair
  • Great price

CON:
  • The curls don’t really last very long if you have really thick and heavy hair. You’ll need to use enough hair products. (like a good mousse)

Will you try the Philips Easy Natural Curler?

Miss Dior Promenade

Last Saturday I went to Paris and what better city to buy a handbag then Paris?
If you remember my previous handbag post (here) you know I was looking for a mini handbag, preferably in pink.
At first I was leaning to another Chanel, I had the mini classic flap in mind. The other options were the Fendi 2jours petit or Saint Laurent sac de jour baby.
In Paris I've visited the 3 shops at Avenue Montaigne. Chanel turned out to expensive after the latest price increase. Fendi was not my cup of tea and Saint Laurent SDJ baby couldn't close in anyway. I need a zipper for my wallet and phone!
After strollin' around, my mom suggested me to take a look at Dior. And there she was, it was instant love, the Miss Dior Promenade in the size large!

A girl in Dior, guess that's me from now on! ;-)

The details of the bag: details about the bag:

The outside:
  • Material: Lambskin
  • Color: Poudre Rose
  • Hardware: Champagne color
  • Size: 21 x 13,5 x 5 cm (this is the large size)
  • Chain: 120 cm

The inside:
  • 1 large inner compartement
  • Zipped pocket
  • Inner and outer flat pocket
  • 7 credit card slots

The Clutch can be worn in 5 different ways, it's a very versatile piece! just what I needed.

What's your latest handbag purchase?

GLAM-A-HOLIC

A while ago I bought the GLAMGLOW SEXY GIFT from Sephora.fr.
I always wanted to try the Glamglow products but I guess the price held me down.  The Glamglow masques are THE masks of the celebrities. Who doesn’t want to try that? J

Glamglow introduced the sexy gift for the holidays: 3 Glamglow masques for the price of 1! This was a deal I just couldn’t resist. In the pack I could find 1 regular size YOUTHMUD and 2 sample sizes: 1 SUPERMUD and 1 THIRSTYMUD.

I started with the Supermud, which eventually appeared to be my favorite one out of the 3. You can use this as a spot treatment or on your entire face, as a real facemask. After applying, leaving it for 15minutes  and cleaning my  face, my skin just felt super soft and clean! When you would like to apply make up afterwards you’ll see that your skin really had a boost and it applies a lot easier.

The Youthmud is a scrub and a mask all in one. When you apply it to the skin it will start tingle-ing (aka burning like hell!) but after 5 minutes this feeling will stop. The mask will be dry in about 15 minutes. When you start cleaning your face this is more a scrub-feeling, your scrubbing your face whilst removing the mask. Afterwards your skin might look a little bit irritated (sensitive skin will have this, because of the scrub effect) I don’t hate this mask, but must say that the tingle-ing effect isn’t that pleasant.

Both masks made my skin really clear, gave it a nice boost, my pores where a lot smaller and both masks prevent some (upcoming) spots. Altough they say that the Supermud is more a "problem skin" mask and the Youthmud is more an "anti-aging" mask I still go for the Supermud (I don't have a problem skin) just because I don't like the burning feeling of the Youthmud.

Thirstymud is more for the skin who really needs to get hydrated! I used it when my skin was completely dry and sensitive, thank you Belgium winters! It works like magic! This mask needs to stay on for about 10-20 minutes. If there is still some product left you can clean it off with a tissue or massage It in to your face. Some people even use this mask as a night cream or when they have a really long flight and want to keep their face hydrated. After a long flight you will get off the plane with a plumpy look on your face.

I was really happy that I could try the 3 existing Glamglow masks (at this time, there's already a 4th on the market), my number one is by far the Supermud, followed with the Thirstymud when in need of hydration. I use the Glamglow masques once a week (mostly on Sunday - pamperday :-)) or, when I have some spots, I’ll use them during the week as a spot treatment. As soon as I run out of these I'll be buying them again, can't imagine my skincare routine without them.

March 2015 Glamglow is introducing cleansers of these 3 Glamglow products in Belgium, I’m already curious about these. What do you think about "mud" cleansers?

Glamglow is for sale at Ici Paris XL, Cosmeticary (they still have some sexy gift packs for sale online!) and Sephora.fr

Would you buy one of these masks? Do you have any mask recommendations?

What do you girls think? Anyone who owns it?
